Character Name: Edward Atlus
Series: OC, CRAU’d from Ryslig
Canon Point & History: Since Ed is an OC and is being CRAU’d on top of that, I have a couple sections on this journal page with some canon information! Background, OC canon history, and some basic world info are under their respective labelled sections on the bottom portion of the page; meanwhile, his Ryslig summary is under “GAME HISTORY: RYSLIG”!

Personality:
✧ Optimistic, patient - Both Cevedal and Ryslig are consistently shrouded by a fog of doom and gloom, filled with people trying their best to get by amidst their dreary life circumstances; and it is within these environments that Edward's undying optimism shines brightest. He is, above all else, a believer in the goodwill of the world, ever-hopeful that the future holds something better for all its children than the betrayals of the past. He puts great stock in the fluidity of nature, confident that everything and everyone has the capacity for change no matter what they have experienced. Most especially, he sees the people he meets as future friends and prefers hospitality over wariness, even when those people treat him with unconcerned apathy.
✧ Nurturing - Edward dedicates his day-to-day to nurturing the life around him. His home is a very cold place that prohibits all but the hardiest creatures from taking up residence, and so he sees what does manage to thrive as extremely precious. Most often this is seen in his cultivating or otherwise working with the local flora; the little propensity he has for magic is focused around accelerating plant growth, even. When he must use a plant or animal for its materials, he tries to make the most of what they have so its sacrifice is not wasted. Outside of the natural world, Ed is always wanting to help others however he can. He works in the local apothecary in part due to his knowledge of plants but also largely because he feels it's the business that can most easily help people. At home, he strives to take the best care of his younger brother as he can, cooking meals and making sure everything is as welcoming as it can be despite the memories haunting their home. His eagerness to please occasionally costs him his own physical and mental stamina, notably in his decision to be the adult of the household even before age 12.
✧ Protective - His intense care for others leads him to act rather protectively over them: just as he goes to great lengths to shower his loved ones with comfort and affection, so too does he go to such lengths to keep them safe. He will frequently attempt to talk down a hostile situation, for he detests fighting and has no notable combat prowess prior to Ryslig, but he's still willing to wedge himself between adversaries in a confrontation turning violent if it means he can spare someone else the hurt. His insistence on keeping others out of harm can even come to the detriment of others however, particularly when he insists on overriding the independence of the very people he wants to protect in favour of what he views as "the best decision."
✧ Stubborn - Edward is stubborn like that. He sticks to his beliefs and refuses to give in so easily to those who would look to defy them. It is this stubbornness that allows him to be so dedicated to his goals, and it is further still what allows him to endure pain for the sake of others. He can, of course, become frustratingly immovable if a serious disagreement comes about, should the suggested terms so severely violate his own moral tenets; and should he feel it necessary, he’s willing to go his own way.
✧ Honest, trusting - All of that said, he isn’t one to lie about his intentions, especially when they concern another person. He is honest if nothing else, and he generally expects others to be just as honest with him, often to his detriment. He prefers to give others the benefit of the doubt, seeing them - as mentioned before - as future friends rather than potential enemies. His changes into a Pooka have caused him to be less prone to oversharing things, having a tendency now to omit details that aren’t as “important,” but his general stance on honesty remains.
Possessions: The clothes on his back, two glass eyes (one green, one red), and a jar of different kinds of teeth.

✧ General plant manipulation. The ability to manipulate and alter plant growth. This can involve spurring rapid growth in foliage or making it move in certain ways. The more drastic the change, the more energy it takes. Cannot be used on living creatures, notably plant people or Grass-Type Pokémon.
✧ Flora divination. Touching a plant gives Edward immediate knowledge on its common name(s), its edibility, whether or not it’s poisonous, and its medicinal uses (but not how to prepare anything that would use these medical properties). He isn’t immune to any of the plant’s poisons that work off physical contact when he uses this ability. Also can’t be used on living creatures like plant people or Grass-Type Pokémon.
✧ Lichdom and faedom. Heeeeee’s a lich, and a very newly-formed one at that! In general this means his magic will be more intense and that he’s very hard to kill, but since he’s hardly explored this aspect of him yet, that’s about it.

✧ Incredible leg strength. Edward can jump up and across distances of up to six times his own height, and he can kick through stone walls.
✧ Enhanced senses. His senses of seeing, hearing, and smell have all been improved: he has a greater range of vision and can see into the ultraviolet spectrum, his ears are as keen as a real rabbit’s, and he can track others by scent.
✧ Tracking ability. “Pookas are able to ‘mark’ up to ten objects or people, and can follow their trails from any location. These marks fade naturally after a week; if the Pooka tries marking an eleventh thing, one of the first ten will disappear.”
✧ Transformative abilities. “Using their fae magic, a Pooka can change their face and build to mimic that of another character. They cannot gain limbs (no wings when mimicking a harpy, etc), and they must retain their Pooka features during this transformation. However, Pookas who keeps their ears hidden will be able to fool even their disguise's closest friends. They may transform themselves once per day, and the transformation lasts for up to one hour.”
✧ Travel form. Ed can shift into a form resembling an extremely round chinchilla. This form is much smaller, faster, and more vulnerable; and he cannot use any other abilities in it.
✧ Fog form. When the fog of Ryslig is especially thick, Edward can assume his fog form, a larger and more horrifying version of his usual self. Due to the environmental requirements for this form, it is assumed that he cannot enter his fog form outside of Ryslig.
